Mark Dominik, new General Manager for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will be the keynote
Speaker at the Lawrence Schools Foundation’s 2009 Community Education Breakfast, to be held on Friday, September 18, at the Lawrence Holidome. Dominik is a 1989 graduate of Lawrence High School, a graduate of KU, and has been working for the Buccaneers for 15 years, most recently as the Pro Personnel Director. Dominik now manages a team that has been one of the NFL’s most successful over the past decade.
His mother, Sharon Dominik, still lives in Lawrence.
“It has become a tradition for the Foundation to ask a graduate from the Lawrence Public Schools to give the keynote address at this annual event,” states Ron Aul, President of the Foundation. “Mark is a great example of the amazing individuals who are products of our school district and we are thrilled that he is willing to take time out of his busy season schedule next fall to come to Lawrence.”
Now that the first graduates of Free State High School have been out of school for ten years, the Foundation will soon be looking for former Firebirds to be future keynote speakers. Lee Beth Dever and Cindy Self, both serving on the Board of Trustees for the Foundation, are the 2009 Co-Chairs of this event.
Anyone interested in being a Breakfast sponsor, please contact Susan Esau, Executive Director, at 330.1941 or sesau@usd497.org. The Lawrence Schools Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that raises money to enrich the education of the students in the Lawrence Public Schools.
